Fruit Tree Planting at Govt. Muhammadian Lower Primary School , Pulluvila

In September 2023, we visited Govt. Muhammadian LP School in Pulluvila, Trivandrum. This old school by the coast needed some green love, so we brought along 20 baby fruit trees.

Our goal?

To make the place greener and teach kids about nature.

What makes this School special?

This school is turning 100 years old this year! Imagine that! Even though it’s small, with only around 30 students in total , it’s a big part of the community. Around 3 students need extra help as they are differently abled .

Why Do Fruit Trees Matter?

These trees do more than just giving us tasty treats. They clean the air, provide homes for animals like birds and butterflies, and stop the soil from washing away, especially in places by the sea.

Working Together:

Many people joined forces to make this project a success. Mr. Thaddeus, our dedicated Climate Leader from the 2019 cohort who is the Ward Member , played a crucial role. He reached out to us, asking for help for the school. The Principal and other staff members also jumped in with enthusiasm. But the real stars of the show were the students. They were bursting with questions and energy, stealing the spotlight!
